Nicola Baldan to contest Monza TCR Europe rounds
Nicola Baldan will race for the M1RA team in the latest rounds of the TCR Europe series this weekend at Monza.
Baldan made his debut for the Hungarian outfit in the most recent meeting of the TCR Italy series season at Vallelunga, which marked his first outing since breaking his collarbone in an accident at Imola.
The reigning Italian champion will partner M1RA regular Dániel Nagy and said he was looking forward to spending more time at the wheel of the Hyundai i30 N TCR as he continues to get himself back to full fitness.
“The M1RA people gave me a big help in Vallelunga last weekend, allowing me to be competitive despite I wasn’t at my hundred per cent yet,” he said.
“The level of the European series is so high, but I know I am in the right place at the right time. I can’t wait to seat back into my car to face this new challenge.”
Team principal Dávid Bári said he was hopeful of a solid showing on track from Baldan during the weekend ahead.
“Despite the Vallelunga races did not end the way we wanted, we are happy to continue with Nicola in TCR Europe as well,” he said. “He is a fast driver and with his experience of the Monza track he can give valuable contribution to the team this weekend.”
