Race director says PWR Racing’s exhaust has given them an advantage
The SBF-appointed (Swedish Motorsport Federation) race director Börje Blomén, who was in charge at the Gelleråsen Arena STCC weekend, has stated that the exhaust configuration used by PWR Racing – SEAT Dealer Team has given them an advantage.
“Yes, it does (give them an advantage),” said Blomén to Dagens Nyheter.
The team had their cars disqualified from the STCC races at Gelleråsen Arena for running an exhaust system configuration that was not, according to the technical stewards, legal.
“You can’t cherry pick. In my world this is very clear, you just have to look at the images (in the homologation papers) to see how it (the exhaust) should look,” said Blomén.
“Then you can discuss how the regulations have been interpreted, but the advantage with what they have done enables them to have a higher performance level from their cars than others.”
PWR’s rivals, including Kristoffersson Motorsport and WestCoast Racing, have stated this brings into question the results from the previous rounds of the season, which Blomén says cannot be changed.
