Weight increases for Peugeot and Opel, boost changes for all

The TCR Technical Committee have confirmed a Balance of Performance adjustment with immediate effect for the Peugeot 308TCR and the Opel Astra TCR, with the Lada Vesta TCR, which primarily competes in TCR Russia, given a weight break.

The Peugeot has now been given a weight increase of 20kg, with the Astra, a front-runner in the TCR Germany Touring Car Championship which has its next round at Zandvoort this weekend, given a 10kg increase.

The Lada is able to run 20kg lighter.

On relative compensation weights, this means the Peugeot 308TCR, a two-time race winner in WTCR and a leading contender in TCR Europe, will run at a weight of 1,305kg, with the Astra on 1,325kg. The Vesta TCR will be on 1,335kg.

The TCR organisers have also issued all manufacturers with a new chart of boost pressure tolerenences. Boost settings were the talking point of the last round of the World Touring Car Cup at the Slovakiaring, with Hyundai and Honda having been found to fall foul of the boost tolerances published by the FIA ahead of the weekend, however the Honda teams appealed their exclusion as their cars were in-line with the TCR published chart, which they allege means their cars are legal.
