Peter Terting joins TCR Europe field
Former WTCC race winner Peter Terting will compete in the remaining rounds of the 2018 TCR Europe Series season, starting with Assen this weekend.
The 34-year-old ex-SEAT driver will compete in a Hyundai i30 N TCR run by the Autodis Racing by Piro Sports team, and will take the place of Cedric Piro – who has managed just a single top ten so far this season.
Terting, who has also competed in the DTM in the past, has spent recent seasons competing in longer endurance races, with a number of class wins and podium finishes in the Nürburgring 24 Hours.
That includes a second in class this season in a Hyundai in what was his first taste of TCR machinery, whilst he also competed in an Audi RS 3 LMS for Prosport Performance in the latest event of the ADAC TCR Germany at the Nürburgring.
“I’m very happy to return to international Touring Car competition after a long time,” he said. “After my participation with the Hyundai team in the 24H Nürburgring I have worked a lot to join TCR Europe with Piro Sports.
“It is always difficult to start in the middle of the season and we have completed only one test day so far. Let’s see what we can do!”
