Loїc Duval fastest in final practice session at Brands Hatch

Audi Sport Team Phoenix’s Loїc Duval topped the time sheets in the third and final practice session of the DTM weekend at Brands Hatch, going just under a tenth of a second faster than the Mercedes-AMG of Paul di Resta with just over a minute left.

The Frenchman, who was the only retirement yesterday after a mistake at Paddock Hill bend on lap two, hit back to go fastest of all at an overcast Brands Hatch in the 20-minute practice session, with a second covering 16 of the 18-car entry.

Behind di Resta was BMW Team RMR’s Timo Glock, with Nico Müller fourth fastest in his Audi RS 5 DTM.
Audi’s main championship challenger René Rast was fifth fastest, just ahead of Rosberg Audi team-mate Jamie Green, with yesterday’s race winner Daniel Juncadella seventh in his Mercedes-AMG C63 DTM.

Edoardo Mortara’s Mercedes-AMG and the Audis of Mike Rockenfeller and Robin Frijns completed the top ten.

Championship leader Gary Paffett was the last driver within a second of Duval’s time in 16th, 0.924 seconds off the pace.

The next session is qualifying for this afternoon’s race, which takes place at 11:20 BST (12:20 CEST).
