Jack Goff leads Honda top three in final Snetterton practice

Jack Goff was fastest of all in the Eurotech Racing Honda Civic FK2 in the second practice session at Snetterton, leading the Team Dynamics Civic FK8 of Dan Cammish by over two-tenths of a second.

In fully dry conditions, Goff was the pace-setter throughout the bulk of the 40-minute session despite carrying 27kg of ballast, at one point leading an all-Eurotech Racing top three with team-mates Matt Simpson and Brett Smith just behind.

A late improvement for Cammish in the Civic FK8 saw him move up to second, while Mike Bushell again showed strong pace in the Team HARD Volkswagen CC with the fourth fastest time, tied to the thousandth of a second with Simpson’s Honda.

Brett Smith was fifth in his Civic ahead of the HMS Racing Alfa Romeo Giulietta of Rob Austin, with Chris Smiley seventh in his BTC Norlin Honda Civic.

The Power Maxed Vauxhall of Senna Procter, the Dynamics Honda of Matt Neal and the West Surrey Racing BMW of Andrew Jordan completed the top ten.

Championship leader Colin Turkington was 11th fastest, one second from the pace in his BMW.

The only driver not to set a lap time was Motorbase Performance’s Tom Chilton, who has suffered an engine failure, with the team working hard to replace the engine for the first qualifying session of the BTCC Diamond Double weekend, which takes place at 15:10 BST.
