Yvan Muller, Norbert Michelisz and Thed Björk excluded from qualifying
The three Hyundai i30 N TCRs of Yvan Muller, Norbert Michelisz and Thed Björk have been excluded from qualifying following a six-hour investigation which concluded they exceeded their maximum boost pressure.
The Hyundais were all kept in parc ferme as investigations continued into the night, with the investigations concluding that both the YMR Hyundais and the BRC Racing Team Hyundai of Norbert Michelisz had exceeded the maximum boost pressure, which had been revised for all cars ahead of the race weekend.
As a result, both Yvan Muller and Norbert Michelisz will join Thed Björk at the back of the grid for Race 1, with Björk already set to start from last due to an engine change penalty.
No penalty has been assessed for the #30 Hyundai of Gabriele Tarquini, who will therefore start Race 1 from pole position ahead of the Peugeot 308TCR of Aurélien Comte and Pepe Oriola’s Cupra TCR.
