Sébastien Loeb Racing’s weekend officially ended after Vila Real crash
The Sébastien Loeb Racing Volkswagens of Rob Huff and Mehdi Bennani will take no further part in the weekend’s activities after the team’s cars were destroyed in a first lap accident.
Pole-sitter Huff and Bennani came together into Turn 2, with the two drivers locking wheels, with Huff’s car propelled into the barriers, destroying the front of the car and with Bennani’s car launched into the air.
The two drivers were sent to the local hospital for medical checks, with the team confirming that both drivers are OK.
Le sport automobile est parfois cruel…
Mais ce soir, le plus important est que @Huffsport et @MBennaniRacing soient en bonne santé, ils sont sortis de l'hôpital et reprennent leurs esprits pour revenir encore plus forts.

The cars damage precludes them from taking further part this weekend, and it’s more likely they’ll have to be replaced before the next round of the World Touring Car Cup in three weeks’ time at Slovakiaring.
This means there will be no Volkswagens on the grid for tomorrow’s two races.
