Robert Dahlgren leads the first practice session at Anderstorp
Reigning champion Robert Dahlgren led the first 30-minute practice session at the Anderstorp Raceway in his PWR Racing Cupra TCR, outpacing the Brink Audi RS 3 LMS of Micke Ohlsson and the WestCoast Volkswagen of Fredrik Ekblom.
The PWR driver set his best time just after the ten minute mark of 1:38.578 around the 4k circuit, which kept him on top of the time sheets until the end of the session.
Ohlsson improved to go second fastest in the middle of the session in his Audi, just two-tenths of a second behind Dahlgren, with Ekblom third and Philip Morin, the fastest of the junior drivers in fourth in his PWR Cupra, the last driver within half a second of Dahlgren.
Mattias Andersson was fifth fastest in the Honda Civic TCR, now benefitting from a reduction in weight due to the latest compensation weight calculations, while Johan Kristoffersson was the fastest of the KMS Racing drivers in sixth in his Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR.
Tobias Brink was seventh in his Audi, the last driver within a second of Dahlgren, while championship leader Daniel Haglöf, carrying 20kg of success ballast this weekend as the highest points scorer from Knutstorp, was eighth in his PWR Cupra.
Nicklas Oscarsson’s KMS Volkswagen and Andreas Wernersson’s Lestrup Volkswagen completed the top ten.
There were no improvements in the final ten minutes due to an off at the back of the circuit, with the safety car deployed as is the standard practice in STCC.
The second test session is scheduled for 13:35 CET.
