Fighting fit Andrew Jordan targets big points haul
Andrew Jordan says he is targeting a big haul of points this weekend when the BTCC heads for Oulton Park for the fourth round of the year.
The WSR driver currently sits eleventh in the standings having picked up just one podium finish so far this year, and heads into the weekend looking to bounce back from a tough weekend at Thruxton where a virus forced him to miss the final race.
Jordan held the same position in the standings heading to Oulton twelve months ago and went on to secure the biggest points haul of the weekend, with victory in the opening race being followed by another podium in race two.
Similar results are the target this weekend as the Pirtek Racing-backed driver looks to make his move up the championship order.
“We’ve shown really good pace in the car so far this season and hopefully this weekend will be the one when we start to get the points we deserve – as was the case last year,” he said.
“Rear-wheel drive cars have traditionally been strong at Oulton Park, as we were last year with a front row start, a win and more points than anyone else was able to manage.
“Considering that we are running ballast free going into Saturday, I have to aim for similar results this time around and want to qualify well to make sure we are right in the mix to fight for some trophies.”
