Francisco Mora joins M1RA for 2018 TCR Europe campaign
Portuguese driver Francisco Mora has been confirmed as M1RA’s second driver for the 2018 TCR Europe Touring Car Series, joining Daniel Nagy in a two-car effort, with both driving a pair of Hyundai i30 N TCRs.
21-year-old Mora is the reigning TCR Portugal and Spain champion, and made his TCR class debut in 2015, racing at Portimao in his home race in a Veloso Motorsport SEAT León TCR.
The Portuguese driver now joins M1RA, the team owned by World Touring Car Cup driver Norbert Michelisz, and team principal David Bári, joining Daniel Nagy at the Hungarian squad.
“I am very excited to join M1RA, which is a great team,” said Mora.
“I saw their results in TCR International Series last year and it became clear to me that this team is one of the best in Europe. I am expecting strong competition in the season opener, because there are many fast drivers on the grid, but I believe that I can be at the front. The Hyundai i30 N TCR has shown that is an amazing car and together with M1RA I know that I have all of the tools to be competitive. I will work as hard as I can and am looking forward to hitting the track at Paul Ricard.”
Team principal David Bári added:
“Our line-up contains a young Hungarian talent and a national TCR champion driver just like last year. I am so happy to welcome Francisco to our team, he proved his abilities in the Spanish and Portuguese TCR championships and he is extremely hungry for success in European level as well. The team worked very hard in the off season, so a second young, talented and motivated driver is a kind of gift for everyone in the M1RA team. I have positive feelings before the start of the season.”
