Igor Stefanovski joins 2018 TCR Europe season with a Hyundai
Igor Stefanovski is the latest driver to announce that he will join the 2018 TCR Europe Series season at the wheel of a Hyundai i30 N TCR.
The Macedonian will compete with his family team Stefanovski Racing Team, the same team he drove for in the 2017 FIA European Touring Car Cup, where he finished fourth overall.
The 35-year-old made his international racing debut in 2016 in the ETCC, driving a SEAT to finish tenth overall.
“This was the most difficult winter for me and my team,” Stefanovski said. “We had a lot of work to do to prepare for this project and it seemed impossible to finish in time.
“I need to thank Dane Kuzmanovski and my team, but also Hyundai Motorsport for their support. We had the chance to test the TCR car last year and after we saw its potential, we just had to find a way to make this happening.
“Everything was settled last week and together with Hyundai Motorsport we are working hectically against the clock to have the car ready for the first event in France. There is no time to make a test before, so we will have to get familiar with our new machioe on the first race.
“We do not have any goal in term of results, but my wish is to be with the best.”
The 2018 TCR Europe Series starts on May 5-6th at Paul Ricard in France.
