Gabriele Tarquini rumoured to be fastest as WTCR teams test at Monza

A number of TCR teams tested at Monza earlier today, with BRC Racing Team present with Gabriele Tarquini. Norbert Michelisz is scheduled to take over driving duties tomorrow.

Yvan Muller Racing and Target Competition were also in the pit lane, as well as the already-announced Mulsanne Racing by Romeo Ferraris squad.

The team’s Alfa Romeo Giulietta TCRs were driven by touring car legends Fabrizio Giovanardi and Gianni Morbidelli, who only did a few laps during the morning session. The car ran about 50 laps with no mechanical issues.

Although there was timing for the session, not all cars were equipped with transponders, but TouringCarTimes understands Tarquini was fastest, lapping below the 1:59 barrier.

Testing will continue tomorrow, with more teams as yet undisclosed set to join the field.
