Jürgen Schmarl re-signs with Target Competition for 2018 TCR Italy

Jürgen Schmarl will continue driving for Target Competition in 2018 for his fifth consecutive season with the team, moving from TCR Germany to TCR Italy.

“It’s great to be back with Target Competition, it is like a family for me. We have a good testing plan with high hopes to be immediately on top,” said Schmarl.

The 44-year-old Austrian finished 20th in the 2017 TCR Germany season, driving a Honda Civic TCR for the team.

Target Competition will field two Honda Civics for the 2018 TCR Italy Touring Car Championship, with Marco Pellegrini as team-mate to Schmarl.

“We are delighted to have Schmarli with us. We work really well together in and outside the track and we expect him to be very strong in 2018,” said team owner Andreas Gummerer.
