Thed Björk reprimanded for improving his time under yellow flags in practice
WTCC drivers’ championship leader Thed Björk has been given a reprimand after he was found to have improved his time under the yellow flags in the first practice session in Qatar.
The Polestar Cyan Racing driver was deemed guilty of setting his best lap time when the yellow flags were out during the first practice, after Kris Richard’s Chevrolet Cruze had stopped on circuit.
Björk went on to finish third in the session, three-tenths behind title rival Norbert Michelisz, and fourth in the second practice, 1.1 seconds from Michelisz’s FP2 pace-setting lap time.
