TCR UK kicks-off with Brands Hatch taster day
Teams and drivers considering a move into the new TCR UK Series when it launches in 2018 have been given the chance to learn more about the series during a taster day at Brands Hatch.
The special day provided the chance to not only get up close to a number of models currently used in TCR competition, but also to sample a selection of cars – with models representing the likes of Hyundai, Honda, SEAT, Volkswagen, Audi and Alfa Romeo all being made available for drivers to sample.
Amongst the experienced drivers present for the day were Hyundai’s Gabriele Tarquini and the newly-crowned TCR International Series champion Jean-Karl Vernay; both of whom took to the track to complete early morning runs of their respective cars. BTCC champion Ash Sutton meanwhile was present with Team Pyro, who were running their Honda Civic.
Two-time Clio Cup champion Mike Bushell was also on hand to drive the Pyro-run machine, with BTCC racers Michael Epps and Rory Butcher driving the VW Golfs of Brisky Racing and Motorbase Performance.
Female junior racer Shanel Drewe was amongst those to sample the Alfa Romeo.
