Peugeot tease new 308 TCR at Paul Ricard

Peugeot Sport have revealed a TCR specification version of their 308 Racing Cup car at the season finale of the 308 Cup at Paul Ricard, France.

The French manufacturer have been developing the car for the various TCR series for 2018, working primarily on producing more power from its 1.6 litre turbocharged engine so it can compete with its 2.0 litre turbocharged rivals.

Peugeot has been utilising the technical skills of Citroën Racing, part of the new combined Motorsports Centre of Excellence which includes DS Performance, to allow the 308 TCR to compete on the same level.

The 308 Racing Cup car is also currently able to compete in TCR, and DG Sport Compétition head to this weekend’s TCR Benelux finale at Assen in contention for the championship with Kevin Abbring and Aurélien Comte, though outside of Spa, the shorter Belgian circuits favour the handling of the lighter 308.
