Jake Hill hoping for Finals Day trophy

Jake Hill says he is hoping to end the final weekend of the BTCC season with a trophy to have name after a solid performance in qualifying at Brands Hatch.

The Team HARD. driver put his VW CC in the top ten for the second meeting in succession having posted the eighth fastest time, with the youngster looking to replicate the strong pace he had shown on track at Silverstone.

Hill will hope to maintain his top ten placing in the Independents’ Championship with three solid results at his home circuit, but said he was also aiming to try and pick up some silverware to conclude the campaign on a high.

“It’s another solid effort and to get into the top ten round here is a good result,” he said. “I didn’t think the track would suit the VW but the fact is that if I’d nailed the opening sector, we could have been up as high as P3.

“I’m pleased we have been able to maintain the pace we showed at Silverstone, as we’d had an issue with the car for a few rounds that was causing the diff to overheat.

“Although I don’t have anything to play for in terms of a championship, I need to get a result on race day to end what has been a mixed year on a high. I’m going to be pushing to the maximum for some good finishes as I really need to take home some silverware.”
