Josh Cook sent to the back of the grid after Rockingham Race 2 incident
Triple Eight’s Josh Cook will start Race 3 from 32nd position, after he was punished for an incident with Mat Jackson’s Ford Focus on lap eight in the second race.
The two drivers came together at Yentwood, after Jackson had passed Cook on the way into Deene curve, with the two making contact on the exit.
Cook would retire a lap later with bodywork damage after an incident with Team Dynamics Matt Neal at Deene, with Neal also forced to retire from the race with damage.
The stewards penalised Cook for the incident, which as it’s his third strike of the season, means he’s been sent to the back of the grid for his next race.
Cook was due to start 28th on the grid, but will now line up 32nd, behind Josh Price’s Subaru, with the three Team Dynamics Honda Civics of Gordon Shedden, Matt Simpson and Matt Neal just ahead.
