Matt Neal reinstated in fourth after Team Dynamics appeal

Matt Neal has been reinstated in fourth on the grid for the first British Touring Car Championship race at Snetterton after Team Dynamics successfully challenged him losing his best time to a failed ride height test.

Neal set a lap of 1.56.615 after around 10 minutes of qualifying but had the time deleted, and could only manage a 1:57.564 during the remainder of the session, leaving him 23rd.

Team Dynamics argued the ride height check was carried out incorrectly and this appeal has since been upheld by the championship officials.

A non-official was confirmed as having been involved in the ride height check, which is against the championship’s sporting regulations.

The decision means Neal’s team-mate Gordon Shedden drops a place to 21st on the grid.

The updated grid is available here.
