First video of new Holden twin turbo V6 engine
Triple Eight Race Engineering has released the first video of its new twin turbo V6 engine being tested, which is set to debut in the 2018 Supercars Championship.
Craig Lowndes was behind the wheel of the Holden Commodore test car, named the ”Sandman”, at Norwell.
The team has completed over 550 kilometres during the last two days of testing, with team owner Roland Dane praising the sound of the new V6 engine.
“If you had 26 of those on the grid – not necessarily all Holden engines, but a mixture of V6 turbos – you won’t miss a V8 for a second, I promise you. And the hissing and wheezing and banging in the corners is great,” said Dane to Fox Sports.
Next year will see the team running the new V6 engine in a number of wildcard entries next year, with a full season entry planned for 2019. Holden is the only manufacturer so far to confirm an entry with an engine to the new regulations.
