Jose Rodrigues will make ETCC debut at Vila Real

Portuguese driver Jose Rodrigues will make his ETCC debut at his home round of Vila Real next weekend at the wheel of a Honda Civic run by Target Competition.

Rodrigues will join fellow countryman Fabio Mota for the fourth round of the season at the popular street track, located a short distance from his home in Braga. The Portuguese driver raced at Vila Real last year in TCR Portugal, and races for Target Competition this year in the

“It’s for me a pleasure to race in Portugal,” said an excited Rodrigues ahead of his debut. “It’s important for me to be with my sponsors in my home race, I love street circuits and I love Vila Real.”

Rodrigues is a protégé of Tiago Monteiro and has a myriad of local sponsors to support his home effort: “It’s important that Tiago is with me. He gives perfect advice to me and is thenumber one in touring car racing. It’s amazing we can make this race weekend together,” said Rodrigues.

The ETCC race of Portugal takes place at Vila Real on the 24th to 25th of June.
