BMW and Mercedes return to initial weight for Race 2

BMW and Mercedes have returned to the initial base weight after the calculations made with the results of the qualifying session held this afternoon at Hockenheim.

Timo Glock’s pole position lap and René Rast’s qualifying time are the ideal laps for BMW Motorsport and Audi Sport respectively. Gary Paffett clocked the best lap for Mercedes AMG, with a time of 1:31.751.

Audi was between 0.1% and 0.2% from the ideal lap, with Mercedes being over 0.2%. The results translate in that the BMW M4 DTM will add 5kg to yesterday’s base weight. The Audi RS 5 DTM will stay the same, with the Mercedes AMG C63 DTM losing 5kg.

The performance weights for Race 2 at Hockenheim are as follows:
