BTCC teams rack up valuable mileage in Donington Park test
The British Touring Car Championship field racked up an impressive 1,282 laps between them in the media day test session at Donington Park today, the only official test of the off-season.
The four-hour session was also the first public sighting for a number of teams’ liveries for the new season, including the two Power Maxed Racing Vauxhall Astras and Speedworks Motorsport’s reworked Toyota Avensis.
Team Parker Racing’s Stephen Jelley set the record for the most number of laps on the day (75), which was 13 more than Handy Motorsport’s Rob Austin (62) and 15 more than Motorbase Performance’s Martin Depper (60).
Interestingly, all cars in the top 10 were running the stock TOCA/Swindon engine, which has been updated for 2017.
