BTCC teams out in force at pre-season Brands Hatch test day

Several British Touring Car Championship teams gained more valuable track time at Brands Hatch yesterday, as preparations for the 2017 season continue to gather pace.

Team Dynamics, Eurotech Racing and Team Parker Racing were joined by the local Motorbase Performance squad in Kent, with a pair of the Team HARD Volkswagen CCs also breaking cover for the first time.

As is customary in pre-season some drivers shared each other’s cars, with Jack Goff running in Eurotech team owner Jeff Smith’s Honda Civic Type-R and Matt Simpson sharing champion Gordon Shedden’s machine following his hefty testing accident in Spain.

Also on track were Josh Cook and series returnee Stephen Jelley in their Ford Focuses, while Motorbase were out in full force with their three-car line-up of Mat Jackson, Martin Depper and Luke Davenport.

Over at Team HARD, the three strong driver line-up of Jake Hill, Will Burns and Mike Epps shared the driving duties in the two Volkswagens.

The teams will all return to the track at the official season launch at Donington Park on Thursday, where the grid for the new season will be officially unveiled.
