Sheldon van der Linde joins TCR Germany with Audi
South African teenager Sheldon van der Linde had been confirmed today as part of Prosport Performance’s line-up for TCR Germany.
The two-time Volkswagen Polo Cup South Africa champion will drive an Audi RS 3 LMS for his touring car debut, after racing in the Audi Sport TT Cup last year, scoring four wins on his way to fourth outright in his rookie season.
“I am extremely excited and proud”, said the 17-year-old. “With all these different drivers and brands it is surely going to be a thrilling season and a great challenge. I can’t wait for the season to begin.”
The Southafrican will follow the footsteps of his older brother Kelvin, who raced in TCR for a weekend at Portimao, Portugal, at the wheel of an Audi TT run by Team Engstler, finishing fourth in Race 1. The teenager will start testing soon ahead of his TCR Germany debut.
