European Touring Car Cup calendar revealed for 2017
The calendar of events for the 2017 European Touring Car Cup has been confirmed by the FIA World Motor Sport Council, again featuring six events, four of which are shared with its big brother, the World Touring Car Championship.
The ETCC will start at Monza in Italy on April 30th, before heading to the Hungaroring near Budapest, Hungary for its second round.
The ETCC will again share the grid with the WTCC cars at the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife, before heading to the streets of Vila Real in Portugal for its final pairing with the WTCC.
The fifth round of the ETCC will take place at Zolder in Belgium after a year away from the calendar, while the Most circuit in the Czech Republic will hold the season finale in October.
“Once again we have put in place an attractive calendar made up of four WTCC support races at venues steeped in motorsport history,” said ETCC promoter Francois Ribeiro. “Plus standalone meetings at Zolder and newcomer Most, whom we welcome to the ETCC family. The management at Most have really impressed us with their professional approach and determination to bring the ETCC back to the Czech Republic. We have no doubt the event there will be a big success.”
