Formula 1 engineer Sam Michael joins Triple Eight

Sam Michael, who has worked for Williams and McLaren in Formula 1, has joined Triple Eight Race Engineering for the 2017 V8 Supercars.

“Michael has enjoyed a highly successful, 21-year career in Formula 1 leading engineering teams at both Williams and McLaren, before returning to Australia at the end of 2014,” stated the team in a press release.

“Triple Eight is thrilled to welcome him into the team and looks forward to further developing the foremost engineering group in the Supercars category with his guidance.”

Michael joins the team as Ludo Lacroix, technical director of the team, will leave the team after the current season.
