Matt Neal to miss final race at Brands Hatch with concussion
Team Dynamics’ Matt Neal will miss the final race of the BTCC season with mild concussion after his accident in the second race of the day.
Neal’s Honda Civic Type-R was pitched into the wall exiting Druids after contact with Triple Eight Racing’s Ash Sutton, after his engine had earlier cut out exiting Paddock Hill Bend.
It means the title fight is reduced to three contenders – Sam Tordoff, Gordon Shedden and Colin Turkington. Neal was still in mathematical contention 20 points behind Tordoff, but it would have taken an unlikely series of events for him to take a fourth championship.
