Robert Wickens fined for loose wheel in third free practice

Mercedes AMG’s driver Robert Wickens is having a complicated weekend at the Nürburgring, after the Canadian had to finish this morning’s third free practice session early after a wheel came loose from his C63 DTM.

Wickens had to park his car in the circuit, causing the activation of Slow Zone 3, and finishing his run in the session at that point.

In the DTM regulations, the infringement is classed as an unsafe release, and the stewards have subsequently fined the Canadian 2000€ for the incident.
