Miguel Molina receives five-place grid drop for third offence

Audi Sport Team Abt’s Miguel Molina has received a five-place grid drop for his third infraction of the season at Zandvoort, and drops from 18th to 23rd on the grid for this afternoon’s race.

The Spaniard’s penalty is as a result of having received three black & white warning flags throughout the course of the 2016 season so far. Molina’s warning this weekend came in Free Practice 2, when along with the Mercedes pair of Lucas Auer and Christian Vietoris, and the BMW of Maxime Martin, he was judged to have insufficiently reduced his pace during the slow zone which was implemented after Esteban Ocon put his ART Mercedes off the circuit and into the gravel trap at Turn 9.

The stewards also investigated an incident between the BMW Team MTEK team-mates Bruno Spengler and Augusto Farfus, but have concluded that no action is required.
