First image of the new STCC Ford Mondeo

A first image has been released on the new Ford Mondeo constructed by Brovallen Design ahead of the 2016 Scandinavian Touring Car Championship that starts this weekend.
”We have completed the car in record time, it’s just four weeks since we started the project,” said team owner Tobias Johansson to dalademokraten.se.

The team will be on the grid this weekend with one Ford for Rasmus Mårthen while the ambition is to field a second car in selected races later this year for Kevin Aabol who drove for the team in 2015.

”This year it feels like everything has been a bit late. It has been tough for many to get the budget, the decisions have been late and that forces you to work around the clock to get everything in time,” said Johansson.

Mårthen made his debut in the STCC last year at mid-point of the season and is hoping to break into the top five this year.

”It feels like we have the strongest field in a long time, everyone are in with a shot to win races. Of course we want to be in the top five and if we can reach that, we have done an amazing job. It is of course a disadvantage to be alone in the team, it is a great advantage to have a team mate to share data with,” said Mårthen.
