Prince Carl Philip Bernadotte to miss STCC season opener due to King’s celebrations

Polestar Cyan Racing driver Prince Carl Philip Bernadotte will miss next weekend’s opening round of the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship at the Skövde Airport Race due to two-sets of celebrations, the 70th birthday celebrations of his father King Carl XVI Gustaf, as well as having become a father himself in the past week.

“Because of the king’s 70-year celebrations, Prince Carl Philip will not take part in the STCC premiere,” said Margareta Thorngren, press officer of the Swedish Royal Court.

The team will announce a stand-in for next weekend’s race on Monday to join Richard Göransson and Robert Dahlgren.
