Pepe Oriola determined not to miss opportunities
Pepe Oriola clocked the fastest time of the day this morning in Free Practice 1. Although he failed to make it to the top in the following session, as Gianni Morbidelli was quicker, the Spaniard believes he has good chances for the weekend and the track suits his SEAT.
“I have felt very comfortable at this circuit, although today was the first time I competed in it,” said Oriola. “It is very fast and the SEAT León Cup Racer is going perfectly well. I hope to have a good weekend”.
As for his chances, Oriola is determined to score points and take the opportunities as they come along: “I do not want to miss any opportunity if I want to win the title at the end. However, the qualifying session tomorrow will mark the real options in both races.”
The night race, which is due to be held on Saturday, adds more taste to the recipe, according to the Spaniard: “I will compete at the evening, as happened last year in Singapore, where I achieved a good result. For the spectators, for sure it will be a very exciting race”, concluded the Craft Bamboo Lukoil driver.
Qualifying will take place at 13.00 local time.
