Subaru ready to continue development with customer teams
After a successful test in Cremona last week, Top Run’s Subaru WRX STi has made significant progress in terms of handling and reliability.
With Luca Rangoni behind the wheel, the car covered about 100 miles without technical problems, which allowed the team to explore the handling of the car to deliver a good basis for customer teams.
“We are very happy with the work we have done,”said team manager Renato Russo. “The changes we made to the front axle following last week’s test have proved to be effective. The understeer problems have been solved and driveability has improved significantly.”
The Subaru was present at the last three events of last season’s TCR International Series, but several issues culminated with an aborted weekend in Macau. Luca Rangoni, who had taken the car to its debut, was praised by Russo: “We are very grateful to Luca Rangoni who has fully committed himself to the task of helping the team in developing the car. Without his experience and dedication it would have taken much more time to get to this point.”
Testing is now ready to continue with customer teams: “We think that we have now reached the stage where we can entrust the Subaru to the teams that will run it during the season.”
The WRX STi is rumoured to already be a success in Asia and was also displayed at the Campionato Italiano Turismo media presentation in Monza a few weeks ago.
