BTCC teams tackle wet Thruxton in pre-season test

Five teams took to the Thruxton circuit in Hampshire for a predominantly wet testing session ahead of the 2016 season.

Motorbase Performance were present with the #77 Ford Focus ST which will be campaigned by Andrew Jordan, with the 2013 champion joining them from Triple Eight Racing for this season.

Team Parker Racing were also present with their Ford Focus ST, back from having tested alongside Honda in Spain last week with Alex Martin behind the wheel.

There were two new Honda Civic Type Rs on show, with Jeff Smith driving Eurotech Racing’s new car, and Speedworks Motorsport fielding Matt Simpson in their new Honda, which they will run alongside the Toyota Avensis of Tom Ingram this season.

Former Triple Eight Racing driver Jack Goff was also on circuit in the BMW 125 of West Surrey Racing, running with backing of IHG Rewards Club this year, taking the spot of Andy Priaulx, who has switched to Ford’s GT programme.
