Stefano D’Aste not pushing in testing

All-inkl.com Racing’s Stefano D’Aste came last in the opening testing session in Buriram, Thailand. Despite the Italian’s bad result, the Chevrolet RML Cruze driver is not worried at all ahead of the weekend.

“I was not pushing, I was just learning the track,” said the Italian to TouringCarTimes. “I needed track time, which I managed to do, and we did not use new tyres unlike most of the field as we felt there was no point. I am not worried at all, it’s still quite early in the weekend.”

D’Aste actually likes the track and is positive he will be able to catch up with the others in the upcoming sessions: “The track is nice, I like it. I think that as the weekend goes on we will be able to catch up with the others, I am quite confident.”

D’Aste’s best result overall was a sixth place in Marrakech, with the Italian currently 14th in the outright standings.
