José María López to race despite tinnitus issue
José María López is going to race in what could be the title decider in Buriram, Thailand, despite a tinnitus problem. The Argentinian has probably picked up the problem during a flight.
“It is a bit annoying, but it’s okay,” said the Citroën driver to TouringCarTimes. “The pressure change must have broken something in my inner ear, so I always hear a hiss, it feels like coming out of a very loud disco, and I have it all day.”
Despite the issue, the Argentinian says he will have no problems when in the car: “The only annoying thing is that this noise prevents me from sleeping well, because I am not used to it, but it will go away with time. It will not be a problem in the car anyway.”
The Argentinian had been rumoured as being unable to race, but the championship leader denied that’s a possibility.
