José María López relaxed after testing session
Championship leader José María López finished the opening testing session in Buriram, Thailand, in sixth. Despite not having set the pace, the Citroën driver is not worried ahead of the remainder of the weekend.
“It’s very early in the weekend, so I don’t think there is anything to worry about,” explained the Argentinian to TouringCarTimes. “We did not use new tyres, whereas we know others did, so all in all I am quite relaxed and positive.”
When asked about when he will have a clearer idea of where he is in terms of performance, the championship leader said: “It’s always like that. We will not have a true idea until we go out for Qualifying and set a time on new tyres. Talking about where we are before that makes no sense. Let’s wait and see.”
López has a 75-points advantage over fellow Citroën driver Yvan Muller, with 110 still up for grabs.
