Loris Hezemans shines with second place and defensive drive

Loris Hezemans defended very well from Pepe Oriola, finishing second behind Target Competition team-mate Stefano Comini to claim a 1-2.

It was Hezemans first podium since joining the championship.

“It was a tough race, but I managed to keep Gianni Morbidelli first and then Pepe Oriola behind,” said the Dutchman, who made his debut in Singapore. “It was tough but it was also fun, and in the end I finished second so I am really happy with the outcome of the battle.”

The SEAT driver admitted he was not thinking about defending Comini’s lead, but more on keeping his second place: “I wasn’t thinking about team games to play in favour of Stefano, to be honest I just knew I could finish second, because I knew Pepe was quicker, but I still managed to keep him behind, so I was more focused on myself than on the team effort.”

When asked if he would like to stay in the TCR International Series, Hezemans said to TouringCarTimes: “Of course the TCR International Series is a great place to be, I like the cars and the level is very high, so I would like to stay in the championship if possible.”
