Gianni Morbidelli impressed with his own race pace
Gianni Morbidelli did not repeat his dominance from the first Free Practice session, but still came a close second behind Craft-Bamboo Lukoil’s Jordi Gené. The Italian focused on his race pace and was impressed with it.
“The session was really good,” said the WestCoast Racing driver to TouringCarTimes. “The car is fast and very, very consistent. It gives me confidence heading into Qualifying.”
Talking about his chances, the Italian wouldn’t say much: “I think we are competitive, but the gaps are really close. This morning the temperatures were lower, so I don’t take anything for granted. We will have to fight if we are to get pole position.”
Morbidelli is racing the new Honda Civic TCR “Step 2” as part of the developement of the Honda-JAS customer car for next year.
