Hans Joachim-Stuck drives the Audi RS 5 DTM
Former DTM champion Hans Joachim-Stuck had the opportunity to get behind the wheel of the Audi RS 5 DTM today at Oschersleben, host of the seventh round of the 2015 Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters season, becoming quickly impressed by the modern racing car.
Stuck, now president of the DMSB (German national motorsport authority), is present at the Motorsport Arena and was the chosen driver for the ‘taxi rides’ offered to VIPs by the Ingolstadt manufacturer this weekend.
This was the first time that Stuck got behind the wheel of a modern DTM car. The DMSB president celebrated back in Norisring the silver anniversary since the debut of the Audi V8 quattro, which later in 1990 would become the then Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft champion.
Hans Joachim Stuck was amazed by the performance of this RS 5 DTM, and even had a recommendation for the future: “Simply incredible. The step from a GT3 car to the DTM is bigger than I thought. You can feel the enormous downforce. This means you have to press your buttocks together quite a bit. Bringing the tires and brakes up to operating temperature isn’t easy. But once everything’s warm, the Audi RS 5 DTM is really nice to drive. Just a little more power output wouldn’t hurt.”
The DTM gets back on track at 15:10 CEST (GMT + 2) for the second race of the weekend.
