Bruno Spengler leads BMW charge in shortened FP2

BMW Team MTEK driver Bruno Spengler set the fastest time this morning in the second free practice session held at Oschersleben, host of the seventh round of the 2015 Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters season. The Bavarian manufacturer locked the first four positions of the table.

The session started with a 3-hour delay over the initial agenda, due to the thick fog over the Motorsport Arena, which not only caused visibility problems, but also made it impossible for the medical helicopter to take off.

In order to keep to the ammended agenda, the second free practice session was shortened to 25 minutes, instead of the traditional 45, with the rest of the timetable remaining unchanged.

The session was largely trouble free, with a few off track excursions by Mattias Ekström, Robert Wickens and António Félix Da Costa.

Bruno Spengler set a best time or 1:20.163, followed by team-mates Augusto Farfus, Maxime Martin and António Félix Da Costa.

Mercedes AMG’s Pascal Wehrlein was fifth, followed by Gary Paffett. Timo Glock was seventh for BMW, with Daniel Juncadella in eighth place.

Audi’s Jamie Green and Timo Scheider completed the top ten.

Qualifying for Race 1 starts at 12:00 CEST (GMT + 2).
