Cyan Racing confirms two car multi-year programme in the STCC
Cyan Racing, the new name for Polestar Racing, will continue in the STCC in a multi-year deal under the Volvo Polestar banner, with Prince Carl Philip Bernadotte as one of the team’s two drivers in 2016
The team will continue with the Volvo S60 in the fifth year of the Solution-F format (one year in TTA, four years in STCC) next year, with current driver Prince Carl Philip continuing with the team. The second driver is yet to be named. The team’s current drivers are Thed Björk and Fredrik Ekblom.
“We are very happy to continue racing in our home market championship and with Prince Carl Philip. This championship and our drivers are a part of Polestar’s heritage, and we wish to continue to build on that,” said Alexander Murdzevski Schedvin, vice president and head of motorsport at Polestar.
Prince Carl Philip, who took his first race victory earlier this year in Falkenberg, is delighted to continue racing with Volvo in 2016.
“The 2015 STCC season has exceeded my expectations and I am very pleased to confirm a continued programme this early,” he said. “My ambition is of course to step up my performance and results even further next year.”
