Hunter Abbott to miss Knockhill raceday
Hunter Abbott will miss the Knockhill race day as his wife went in to labour overnight, forcing the Rob Austin Racing driver back down to London.
Abbott, who had originally planned to miss the Knockhill round altogether, had to step back in to the car after a deal with a replacement driver fell through at the last minute.
Susie, Abbott’s wife, went in to labour in the early hours of Sunday morning, with Abbott making the long drive from Scotland back down to London in order to be there for the arrival of his first child.
The car, which Abbott could only manage to qualify in 21st, is likely to not be present on the grid as it is too late to find a replacement driver.
