Emanuel Moriatis claims TN victory at San Luis
Emanuel Moriatis claimed victory in the Argentinian Turismo Nacional Class 3 at San Luis.
The Ford Focus driver qualified third but made his way up to second place. Moriatis kept second until the last lap when Jonatan Castellano suffered from a puncture and dropped to the back of the field.
Moriatis won the race ahead of manufacturer colleague Matías Machuca and championship leader Guillermo Ortelli.
Chevrolet driver Ortelli heads the points table on 113 points, with Moriatis in second place on 115 points. Facundo Chapur is third on 105 after a tough race where he charged from 43rd and last position to 15th. The Team Peugeot Total Argentina driver suffered from a puncture on the warm up lap and had to pit for a new tyre.
Class 2 saw Nicolás Posco claiming victory and championship lead as Gabriel Fernández and Emiliano Giacoponi, who had pole position, retired from the race.
Posco, driving a Ford Focus, won the race just seven tenths of a second ahead of Volkswagen Gol driver Lucas Mohamed. Peugeot driver Adrián Percaz finished third ahead of Renault driver Joel Borgobello. Matías Vidal made it five different manufacturers in the top five for Chevrolet.
Posco leads the championship on 131 points, with Percaz on 125 points and Fernández on 114 points. Turismo Nacional continues on July 5th at Concordia.
