Jack Goff given warning and points for Aron Smith clash

Triple Eight Racing’s Jack Goff has been given a verbal warning and two penalty points for an incident with Aron Smith in the second race at Brands Hatch.

MG driver Goff attempted a pass on Team BMR’s Smith at Graham Hill on lap four, putting the Volkswagen CC onto the grass and down the order.

The endorsement is Goff’s first driving standards penalty of his BTCC career. He went on to finish ninth and starts on the front row of the race three grid, while Smith finished 12th.

“I’m not going to get into one of those slating things, he made a mistake, if he apologises, I’ll get over it, but a silly move early in the race,” said Smith to TouringCarTimes.
