Jason Plato gets grid penalty for Rockingham
Triple Eight’s Jason Plato will start the first of tomorrow’s races at Rockingham from the back of the grid, pending the outcome of an appeal.
Plato has been given a reprimand for the incident with Rob Austin in the final race at Knockhill, which saw the Audi A4 retire.
As it his his third offence of the season, he incurs the mandatory demotion to the back of the grid.
Triple Eight have appealed the decision, and are hopeful of this being heard before qualifying.
Both drivers were called before the stewards at Knockhill, but the decision was taken to hear the matter on Saturday morning at Rockingham.
