Jamie Green: “the car has more potential than 11th place”

Audi’s Jamie Green feels his Audi RS 5 DTM was capable of more than 11th in today’s qualifying at Oschersleben.

Green, who took pole at Oschersleben in 2013, was fighting at the sharp end of the grid in the first part of qualifying, and believes balance and technical issues prevented him from qualifying higher than 11th.

“The car certainly has more potential than 11th,” said Green. “In Q2, I was struggling a bit with warming up the tyres and finding the right balance and the buttons on the steering wheel weren’t working flawlessly, either.”

Despite not managing to break into the top-10, Green feels the Audi RS 5 DTM’s potential could put him into contention for a good result tomorrow.

“Eleventh isn’t a bad starting position, and we can still clinch a good starting position from there.”

Green’s Audi stable-mate Miguel Molina took the third DTM career pole at Oschersleben.
