Rob Collard given a warning for Race 3 incident with Neal

The stewards at Thruxton have given West Surrey Racing’s Rob Collard a verbal warning following a clash between himself and Honda’s Matt Neal in the final race of the day.

The stewards investigated the incident which took place at the Complex on the 18th lap, where Neal was attempting to pass Collard around the outside, with Collard running into the side of the Civic and both drivers going off course and rejoining the circuit further on.

Matt Neal dropped to 23rd position at the finish, with Collard going on to cross the line in tenth position.

The officials also decided to take no action in respect of two incidents following a protest from Team BMR’s Jack Goff.

The team had argued that Motorbase Performance driver Mat Jackson had passed Goff under yellow flags behind the first safety car, and also that Jackson’s Motorbase team-mate Fabrizio Giovanardi had made unfair contact with Goff’s Vauxhall Insignia.
